SAVANNAH BLUE

1431 Times Square, Detroit

With contemporary twists on classic dishes, Savannah Blue also has an excellent dip option on the shareable menu: warm crab dip. Despite the menu category, this dip doesn’t necessarily need to be shared. The warm crab dip consists of crab fondue, Louisiana hot sauce, parmesan and mascarpone cheese, panko, and fried wontons.

ONE-EYED BETTY’S

175 West Troy Street, Ferndale

This Ferndale tavern has quite the selection of beers and whiskey, but that’s not all. Known for its diverse menu, it shouldn’t surprise you that One-Eyed Betty’s also offers a few kinds of dip. From a spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips to a smoked white fish dip served with cajun potato chips, the menu can cater to a range of palates.

LIBRARY PUB & GRILL

6363 Haggerty Road, West Bloomfield Township

In a place where sports and food meet, expect deliciously hearty dips that go well with game night at Library Pub & Grill. With a couple of dip options to choose from, everyone could be satisfied strictly with the starter menu, but there’s more to this family-owned pub. There’s buffalo dip, made with marinated pulled chicken, a mix of spices, cream cheese, and buffalo sauce before being topped with mixed cheese and baked, then served with warm tortilla chips. The spinach artichoke dip is a classic choice, with creamy spinach, artichokes, melted mozzarella, parmesan, and American cheeses, also served with warm tortilla chips. Finishing off the dips, this hotspot serves up a hummus platter, which has freshly roasted garlic hummus, grilled pita, garden fresh broccoli, carrots, celery, red peppers, and cucumbers.

HOWE’S BAYOU

22848 Woodward Avenue, Ferndale

With a nod to Southern cuisine, Howe’s Bayou brings to the table dishes infused with Cajun and Creole flavors. Try out the spinach and artichoke dip with homemade chips, or the smoked white fish dip, which is made from Great Lakes smoked white fish spread and served with fresh horseradish sauce, lemon, capers, and red onion.

THE BLOCK

3919 Woodward Avenue, Detroit

The Block is a place that prides itself on its inviting atmosphere. In the words of co-owner Stephanie Byrd, “The Block is a casual restaurant where the food is fun and not pretentious. Our atmosphere is much like ‘Cheers’ where the bartenders and staff get to know you by name.” The Block has a vast menu ranging from wings to shrimp and lettuce wraps, and the spinach dip served with warm pita chips mirrors its classic yet delectable offerings.

MOTOR CITY BREWING WORKS

470 West Canfield, Detroit

With craft beers at the forefront, Motor City Brewing Works pairs its brews with dishes that complement its flavors. Served with a baguette loaf, choose from (or order both) crab or artichoke dip. The artichoke dip has oven-baked artichoke hearts and spinach blended with mozzarella, asiago, romano, and parmesan cheeses, garlic, and red pepper flakes, and topped with roasted red pepper. The crab dip is a blend of cream cheese and parmesan with onion, red pepper, jalapeno, crab meat, and a mix of spices, and garnished with cilantro.

VOYAGER

600 Vester Street, Ferndale

Voyager is the spot for seafood-inspired dishes, and reservations are recommended. Among the menu, you’ll find hushpuppies, sea scallops, clams, and hot crab dip made with miso, muenster, smoked scallion, and sourdough bread. This dip certainly sets the tone for the rest of your meal.

24 SECONDS BAR & GRILL

3071 12 Mile Road, Berkley

In a place where every second counts, quick bites like dips play a pivotal role. With menu items inspired by tailgating favorites, there are a variety of dips to choose from at 24 Seconds Bar & Grill. You can order chips and dip, with a choice of salsa, guacamole, or queso. There are also garlic pita bites that come with a green onion ranch dip.
